Wildlife Identification & Unexpected Encounter Prevention in Natural Parks of Canada

This project is an engineering design initiative aimed at enhancing safety in Canadian national parks by preventing dangerous wildlife encounters. Named RTCAMP, the system combines RADAR and thermal cameras to detect and identify large animals like elk and bears within a 100-meter radius around campsites. By autonomously monitoring the area and providing real-time alerts, RTCAMP ensures campers are informed of nearby wildlife, thereby reducing the risk of unwanted encounters. The design is optimized for extreme weather conditions, ensuring reliable operation and user safety in diverse environmental scenarios.
