The project "Design and Assembly of VHF Radio System with Yagi-Uda Antenna for ISS Communication" focused on creating a high-performance VHF radio system for communication with the International Space Station. This receiver is aimed to be used to receive a variety of terrestrial and satellite transmissions in the VHF band, including narrow-band FM broadcasts from commercial- and government-operated stations, aviation-band transmissions, and extraterrestrial amateur radio-band communications.
The project included designing and tuning a Yagi-Uda antenna for optimal gain in the VHF band, practical exercises in signal processing, and testing and validating RF front-end performance using a vector network analyzer (VNA) for frequency response and gain measurements.
The team successfully received signals from the International Space Station, showcasing the effectiveness of the system.
